The Kontar™ system is the ideal solution for controlling and
monitoring multi-unit franchises or hospitality applications. The web-based
Kontar™ SCADA™ interface allows the user to easily monitor and control their
operations from anywhere in the world. Simply log into a secure site on the
Arecont Global Hub™ and monitor equipment status, change setpoints,
or create custom alarms and reports. You decide what is important to you
and your business and our open protocols allow a fully custom interface to
be easily designed to meet your needs.
Take a look at the demonstration of an actual client operation
below. Notice the simple layout and dynamic graphics representing real-time
activity on your web-enabled PC. Notice how we monitor equipment operation such
as HVAC, soda fountains, ice machines, cooler and freezer temperatures and
access doors, drive-thru statistics and video surveillance. The system has a
typical payback of two to three years and for some of our clients less than one
year!

While most employees are honest and hard-working people, internal
theft in a growing concern especially within the hospitality industry.
According to the 4th Annual Survey of Restaurant and Fast Food Employees, the
average annual theft amount is over $200 per employee. The Kontar™ system will
empower you to address operational losses through inventory shrinkage and petty
theft. The system can be configured to track theft patterns such as a service
door being opened after hours or shortly after a cooler or freezer door is
opened. The Kontar™ system can also provide a detailed report that will assist
you in reviewing the footage from your video surveillance system. And while
Arecont is not primarily in the security business, we can control even the most
complex security monitoring and alarm tasks better than most dedicated security
systems.

According to the National Restaurant Association up to 5% of the
total cost of running a restaurant is attributed to utility costs. While it may
be difficult to save on labor or inventory, a restaurant owner can often save
money on energy use without sacrificing quality or comfort simply by managing
the operation of their equipment. The Kontar™ system has repeatedly reduced
energy usage of equipment anywhere from 20 to 50%, saving owners literally
thousands of dollars over the course of a single year.
In an average restaurant, HVAC energy usage accounts for close to 50% of all
utility costs. For years, large and medium commercial buildings have reaped the
benefits of sophisticated HVAC control systems. However, despite the fact that
the energy usage in restaurants is 5 times that of an average office building,
restaurants have not been able to take advantage of proven money-saving
technologies. This is attributed mostly to a high initial cost and bulky
complex equipment. The Kontar™ system was optimized specifically for a smaller
facility, finally providing even single franchise owners with a superior,
cost-effective solution.

Over time every piece of equipment may malfunction or fail,
especially the pieces of equipment with plenty of moving parts, coils, heaters,
and compressors. The Kontar™ system is capable of warning the manager of
possible malfunction, and shutting down failing equipment to prevent further
escalation of the problem. For example, an AC system or a soda dispenser that
is not properly adjusted may cause the coils to freeze. If the problem
persists, the compressor will start cycling and eventually will completely
break down. The Kontar™ system can detect the problem with the compressor and
notify the manager or the maintenance service representative automatically,
thus preventing further damage.

Lights, exhaust fans, and other pieces of equipment left turned on will
unnecessarily consume energy and shorten equipment’s operational lifespan. The
Kontar™ system can simply switch the power on and off according to a
pre-defined schedule. Kontar™ will not forget to turn off the baking oven or to
shut down the warmers on time.
As a web-based system, Kontar™ will enable you to remotely access
your operational settings and schedules through a handheld device or a personal
computer. This provides you with the convenience of remotely controlling
various aspects of your operation.
